The Indian Railways is planning to upgrade three major railway stations in Varanasi to improve train capacity and services.
The Railway Ministry is making big plans for the railway stations in Varanasi, especially Kashi, Varanasi Cantt, and Banaras. This project aims to enhance the overall development of these stations, making them more efficient.
Currently, around 150 trains operate from these stations. The goal is to increase this number to about 500 trains in the near future. Recently, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the stations to evaluate construction work and passenger facilities.
The upgrades will not only help in increasing train operations but also reduce congestion in the city. This will make the railway network stronger and more reliable for everyone using it.
In addition, the Minister also visited the Banaras Locomotive Works to check different production units related to locomotive engines. This facility plays a crucial role in manufacturing engines for trains.
