On Friday evening, the Ispat Express, which was on its way from Titlagarh to Howrah, faced a stone pelting incident. This happened around 6:30 PM when the train was nearing Tatanagar, specifically near Jugsalai after crossing the Kharkai Bridge.
The attack broke a window near seat number 57 in the B-2 coach. Thankfully, no passengers were hurt during this frightening event. The local Railway Protection Force (RPF) team promptly inspected the train after the incident.
Passengers may feel worried due to these ongoing stone pelting incidents in the Chakradharpur division. Similar attacks have occurred before, including on the Vande Bharat Express and other trains in different areas like Gamharia and Chaibasa.
Despite plans to install CCTV cameras to enhance security, these incidents keep happening. The Assistant Security Commissioner mentioned that six cameras will be set up at Tatanagar station and around 22 more at other nearby stations.
The RPF is preparing to file a case under the Railway Act against unknown individuals responsible for this stone pelting. Authorities are taking steps to ensure safety and identify the culprits behind these continuous problems.
