On Saturday morning, there was a major disruption on the Khargpur-Tata rail route near Galudih station. This caused several express and local trains to be stuck for hours.
For instance, the Vande Bharat train from Howrah to Rourkela was delayed at Chakulia station for nearly six hours. Passengers faced a lot of trouble during this time.
At around 9:06 AM, the train couldn’t move, and passengers had to wait. After some commotion from those aboard, the train finally left at about 2:45 PM towards Santragachi, passing through Jhargram and Khargpur.
Health officials had arranged an ambulance at the station, but no patients needed it, so it returned to the hospital. Passengers were also helped with snacks and water by local volunteers.
Due to this incident, many people who had come to buy soap from Chakulia were left confused and uncomfortable. Local authorities were prepared for the protest situation, with police and fire services stationed nearby.
