In Bhimavaram, Union Minister Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma announced his focus on improving the Narasapuram parliamentary area. He spoke at the local BJP office on Thursday about key developments, particularly in national highways and railway projects.
Varma mentioned that significant funds have been allocated for highway construction. The Bhimavaram bypass, originally set at Rs 2,500 crore, has now increased to Rs 3,200 crore due to state rate hikes. The central government has approved an additional Rs 700 crore, and the Detailed Project Report is ready.
On the railway front, good news is coming for passengers. The Vande Bharat train service between Chennai and Vijayawada will now include a stop at Narasapuram. Additionally, Attili station will soon have halts for two express trains, with official orders expected shortly.
Also, the Narasapuram-Arunachalam Weekly Special Express has been extended for another month, with hopes for it to become a regular service. Work is underway to upgrade railway stations in Bhimavaram, Narasapuram, and Tadepalligudem, with funding already set for improvements.
Looking ahead, Varma reassured that the future of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is secure, urging cooperation from workers and unions. He also mentioned plans for a new integrated Collectorate complex to serve the seven assembly constituencies in West Godavari district.
