What’s inside:

This article discusses the recent launch of the Vande Bharat Express train between Varanasi and Khajuraho, highlighting low passenger bookings.

Vande Bharat Express train service between Varanasi and Khajuraho has started operating regularly from November 11. This train runs six days a week, except Thursday, and stops at several stations including Vindhyachal, Prayagraj Chheki, Chitrakoot Dham, Banda, and Mahoba.

The train has eight coaches, with seven being chair car and one executive chair car. Currently, there are only 397 seats in the chair car and 29 in the executive chair car available for passengers traveling from Prayagraj Chheki to Khajuraho.

Despite the introduction of this service, the number of passengers traveling on the train is quite low. For instance, between November 11 and 15, only 61 passengers made reservations from Prayagraj Chheki. The situation is similar for travelers starting from Varanasi.

Looking at the period from November 15 to 30, it appears that over 350 seats are still vacant in the chair car each day, as reported on the IRCTC website. This indicates a lack of interest among travelers for this new train service.

As the train continues to operate, it remains to be seen how the passenger numbers will change over time. For now, many seats are unfilled, suggesting that marketing efforts may be needed to attract more riders.

Summary:

  • Vande Bharat Express between Varanasi and Khajuraho started from November 11.

  • The train runs six days a week with several station stops.

  • Current passenger bookings have been very low.

  • Over 350 seats remain vacant daily until the end of November.

  • Future marketing might help improve passenger numbers.
