Just before the accident, two cows suddenly appeared on the tracks near the Islamganj railway gate. This caused the train’s bumper to break. Many passengers got down from the train and stepped onto the tracks while waiting for the situation to be resolved.
After the repairs, the train finally resumed its journey to Udaipur around 4 PM. Meanwhile, there have been past incidents at the same railway crossing, leading to calls for better safety measures like boundary walls along the tracks.
