Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has shared some news about the Vande Bharat sleeper train. He mentioned that the new train will connect New Delhi to Ferozepur Cantt, and it will stop at several stations like Faridkot, Bhatinda, Dhuri, Patiala, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra, and Panipat.
Currently, passengers will have to wait a bit longer for the sleeper train to start. The minister stated that both the new sleeper train and another train need to be ready before they can begin operations. They expect this could take until mid-October 2025.
As for the routes, it’s still not clear where the train will run. However, there are speculations that the new trains might operate between New Delhi and Patna. This will be useful for many travelers in that area.
Vaishnaw also highlighted the importance of a second train for smooth operations. Both trains are planned to be launched together once the second one is ready. The new service is expected to cover the distance between Delhi and Ferozepur Cantt, which is about 486 kilometers, in around 6 hours and 40 minutes.
Looking ahead, the rail ministry is pushing for the approval of the Vande Bharat train between Delhi and Ferozepur. Once the second train is complete, the exact routes will be decided, and services will start, bringing better connectivity for passengers.
