The Vande Bharat train is set to operate between Patna and Deoghar, passing through Bhagalpur. This new service aims to facilitate devotees traveling to the sacred site of Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, allowing them to complete their pilgrimage in a single day. The train’s schedule and route have been specifically designed to accommodate the needs of these travelers, making it easier for them to perform their rituals without the hassle of lengthy travel times.
Stoppage at Sultanganj
One notable aspect of this service is a scheduled 30-minute stop at Sultanganj station. This pause will allow pilgrims to disembark, fill their containers with Ganga water, and continue their journey to Deoghar. The District Magistrate of Bhagalpur announced that the necessary preparations for the train’s operation are underway, with a proposal submitted to the Railway Ministry and relevant tourism departments. The train will depart from Patna in the morning, heading towards Deoghar after its brief stop at Sultanganj.
Same-Day Return for Devotees
After departing Sultanganj, the train will head to Deoghar, reaching its destination in approximately three hours. This means that pilgrims can visit the Baba temple, offer their prayers, and return to Patna on the same day. The introduction of this train will significantly enhance travel convenience for devotees, especially considering that Bhagalpur has already been serviced by another Vande Bharat train running between Bhagalpur and Howrah. The addition of this train marks a significant improvement in accessibility for those traveling to Babadham.
