Good news for travelers in Kumaon! The Indian Railways is planning to start a Vande Bharat train service between Kathgodam and New Delhi. This proposal has been sent for approval and if it gets the green light, it will be a great convenience for many.
The plan includes not just the Kathgodam-New Delhi route, but also 11 other pairs of trains. This means that passengers will soon have direct train access to several important destinations without needing to change trains.
As per the proposal, the Kathgodam-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week. Along with this, another Vande Bharat train from Izzatnagar to Chandigarh is also expected to operate six days a week. Other routes like Ramnagar to Udaipur City and Kathgodam to Subedar Ganj are also in the works.
The plan is to run the Kasganj-New Delhi Express four days a week, and the Kasganj-Sikandarabad Express will run daily, while the Kasganj-Varanasi Express will run three days a week. This will significantly improve connectivity for passengers.
Once the proposals are approved, travelers from Kumaon and Terai will have access to faster and modern train services to major cities like Delhi, Haridwar, Chandigarh, Udaipur, Katra, Varanasi, and Sikandarabad. Many have been eagerly waiting for this service since the introduction of the Vande Bharat in Dehradun.
