Good news for travelers! The Vande Bharat train running between Srinagar and Katra is set to extend its route to Jammu by the end of October. This means both capitals will have a direct rail link soon.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated two Vande Bharat trains on June 6, and due to the ongoing expansion of Jammu station, the service has been operating from Katra. It has quickly become a popular choice for tourists and locals alike.
Starting next month, the railway is planning to run direct trains from Delhi and other cities to Kashmir. Once the work at Jammu station is completed, the direct service will begin, making travel easier for everyone.
Currently, there are two Vande Bharat trains with eight coaches running between Katra and Srinagar. Due to the increasing number of passengers, there are proposals to add more coaches to accommodate everyone.
In addition to this, tourists will soon get to enjoy beautiful views from specially designed Vistadome coaches that will run from Budgam to Katra. This service will be available for 15 days starting from September 19 to October 3.
