The railway users in Visakhapatnam are asking for more train services and better facilities at local stations.
Railway users and local leaders from Visakhapatnam recently met to discuss the need for more train services. This took place during the 11th Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee meeting in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
K. Eshwar and K. Vijay Kumar shared their concerns with the media after the meeting. They talked about how the East Coast Railway’s Principal Chief Commercial Manager, Rita Raj, led the discussions on important railway issues affecting the area.
Some of the main requests included lowering parking fees at Duvvada station and starting local trains. They also suggested shuttle services connecting Srikakulam, Rajahmundry, and Kakinada through Visakhapatnam. A reservation facility at platform number four at Duvvada was also proposed.
In addition, they asked for new train routes from Visakhapatnam to several destinations like Puri and Araku. They even met with Vizianagaram MP K. Appalanaidu to request a stop for the Vande Bharat train at Duvvada station.
These discussions highlight the community’s need for better railway services. Authorities will now consider these requests to improve train access and facilities for passengers in the region.
