The redeveloped station will feature two massive new buildings on the Paharganj and Ajmeri Gate sides. These structures will cover over 1.09 lakh square meters to accommodate nearly seven lakh passengers every day. Travelers will find 30-meter wide and 300-meter long airport-style apron areas for smooth vehicle movement and passenger drop-offs. There will be dedicated retail spaces, comfortable waiting lounges, and seamless connectivity to the Delhi Metro and taxi services to make travel easier for everyone.
Major updates on security and construction progress
Construction is moving ahead on both sides of the station with specific milestones achieved recently. The project uses advanced technology to ensure passenger safety and efficient station management.
- Over 1,500 AI-enabled cameras will be installed for real-time security monitoring across all platforms.
- A central control room will use artificial intelligence to track any unusual activities.
- Construction of the double basement and foundation for the elevated road is active on the Paharganj side.
- The holding area on the Ajmeri Gate side is already complete to manage crowd flow effectively.
