Why is the railway logo changing?

The change in the logo is due to the creation of the South Coast Railway (SCoR) as the 18th zonal railway of India. To represent this expansion, an additional star has been added. The Railway Board approved the modified logo and issued a circular on May 14, 2026, directing all zonal railways, production units, PSUs, and training institutes to use the new logo from June 1.
