Major overbridge projects and their budgets
The state government has sanctioned significant funds for various locations across the Ayodhya and Gonda rail sections. These projects will be executed by the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited. Key details include:
- Halakara ka Purwa: A 650-meter bridge parallel to the existing one, approved at a cost of ₹76 crore.
- Akbarpur-Ayodhya-Barabanki (LC 125C): A new bridge costing ₹96.82 crore to separate road and rail traffic.
- Masanknwa Bazaar (Gonda): An ₹88.90 crore project at crossing number 237 on the Katra-Ayodhya route.
Status of ongoing construction in Ayodhya
While new projects have been approved, several ongoing overbridge constructions are nearing completion. The bridge connecting Ayodhya City to Darshannagar on NH 135A is already 90% finished. Similarly, the Fatehganj overbridge project is 83% complete and is expected to be open for traffic soon. These bridges use modern bowstring steel girders to span over double rail tracks, ensuring long-term durability and safety for heavy traffic.
