The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and CPDS team at Bhagalpur railway station have intensified their security checks ahead of the upcoming Holi festival. On Tuesday night, February 3, 2026, the security personnel successfully recovered a stash of illegal foreign liquor during a special drive known as ‘Operation Satark’. The seized items were found abandoned on the station premises during a routine patrol.

What was found on Platform Number 4?
The incident took place around 8:30 PM when the team noticed a suspicious yellow sack lying unattended near the Howrah end of Platform Number 4. After inquiring with nearby passengers, no one claimed the bag. Upon opening the sack in the presence of witnesses, the officers discovered 12 bottles of illegal foreign liquor inside. The estimated market value of the seized liquor is approximately ₹9,840.
What action has the RPF taken?
Following the recovery, the RPF completed the official documentation and handed over the seized liquor to the Excise Department on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. While the suspect remains unidentified, the CPDS team is currently reviewing CCTV footage from the platform to find the person responsible. Authorities have also issued fresh orders to increase surveillance on late-night trains and at major stations like Jamalpur and Sahibganj to curb smuggling activities.
