Malda Division DRM Manish Kumar Gupta visited Bhagalpur Junction on Thursday, March 5, to review the arrangements for the post-Holi crowd. With a massive surge of passengers expected to return to work in metro cities, the railway administration is taking no chances with safety and convenience. The DRM personally inspected critical areas like the parking lot, ticket counters, and platform management systems to ensure everything works smoothly during the peak rush hours.

Strict Crowd Control Measures
Railways anticipate an additional 10,000 to 15,000 passengers daily as the festival season ends. To handle this, a temporary holding area has been created in the circulating area that can safely accommodate 250 to 300 people at a time. This prevents unnecessary overcrowding on the main platforms.
A major rule has been put in place for safety. If the crowd exceeds the capacity, only passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the platform area. Senior station officials have also been given special financial powers to fix any urgent issues or emergencies immediately without waiting for long approvals.
Direct Feedback from Passengers
During the inspection, DRM Manish Kumar Gupta boarded the coaches of the Vikramshila Express to talk directly to the passengers. He took feedback regarding cleanliness, security, and the availability of basic amenities like water and lights. He made it clear that facilities must be flawless and negligence will not be tolerated.
To further secure the station, unauthorized entry points are being sealed to stop ticketless travelers from entering. Two ambulances are now on standby at the station to provide immediate medical help if needed. Passengers are also being encouraged to book tickets online to avoid long queues at the physical counters.
