Increased Metro Frequency for Festival Season
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced plans to increase the frequency of metro trains in response to the rising crowd levels and pollution during the festival season. The management has encouraged people to utilize the metro system as a means to avoid road congestion and reduce air pollution. Implementation of GRAP Phases
As pollution intensifies, the next phase of GRAP restrictions will be enforced. During the second phase, which operates from Monday to Friday, the number of trips on each metro line will be increased by 40. This adjustment is aimed at accommodating the anticipated surge in metro usage during the festival period while addressing the environmental concerns associated with heightened pollution.
Further Enhancements in Service
Following the activation of the third phase of GRAP, the DMRC plans to further enhance service by adding an additional 20 trips on each metro line.
