Indian Railways has officially converted the Dhanbad-Mumbai (LTT) summer special into a regular weekly express train. This change follows approval from the Railway Board and aims to provide permanent connectivity for passengers traveling between Jharkhand and Maharashtra. The regular service, bearing train numbers 13379 and 13380, began its official operations from Dhanbad on April 6, 2026, offering a more reliable travel option for the public.
Revised Schedule and Travel Details
The regular service operates once a week with a faster travel time compared to the previous special runs. Train 13379 departs Dhanbad every Monday at 11:00 PM and reaches LTT on Wednesday at 1:40 PM. For the return journey, Train 13380 leaves Mumbai on Wednesday at 4:55 PM and arrives in Dhanbad on Friday morning at 8:00 AM. This new schedule reduces the overall travel time by approximately 35 minutes, making the journey more efficient for long-distance travelers.
New Route Stoppages and Coach Composition
The train follows a route through several key stations and now includes new halts at Obra Dam and Renukoot to assist local commuters. This expansion of the route ensures better connectivity for regions that previously had limited access to this direct service. Passengers can now book their tickets 60 days in advance, and the transition to a regular express is expected to reduce fares by up to 30 percent.
