Amrit Station Scheme: NCR GM inspects Chunar and other Mirzapur stations to review passenger amenities

North Central Railway (NCR) General Manager Naresh Pal Singh conducted a comprehensive inspection of five railway stations in the Mirzapur district on April 8, 2026. The visit was part of the Amrit Station Scheme which focuses on upgrading infrastructure and passenger facilities. The General Manager reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects at Chunar, Jhingura, Birohi, Gaipura, and Iradatganj stations. He was accompanied by senior officials including DRM Prayagraj Rajnish Agarwal and other department heads to ensure that construction standards are met.

Major updates and instructions for Chunar Junction

During his visit to Chunar Junction, the General Manager reviewed the modernization of the station building and the construction of the new Foot Over Bridge (FOB). He identified several deficiencies in the ongoing construction and directed the engineering team to prioritize safety and material quality. Specific instructions were given to repair the damaged ramp at platform number 1 and to renovate the electrical panel room located near the FOB on platforms 4 and 5. He also inspected the drinking water booths, lighting, and accessibility features for Divyangjan to ensure a comfortable experience for all travelers.

Infrastructure developments across Mirzapur section

The inspection team monitored the progress of the third line being constructed between Prayagraj and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya section. At Jhingura station, the focus was on the new goods shed and station building, while at Birohi, the team examined the new panel room and relay room. The General Manager emphasized that even smaller stations should have robust basic amenities.
