North Western Railway has officially announced the cancellation and diversion of several train services scheduled for May 2026. These changes primarily affect the Jodhpur rail division and other sections under the North Western Railway zone. According to Amit Sudarshan, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, these disruptions are necessary to facilitate essential infrastructure work aimed at improving passenger safety and increasing train speeds across the network.
Why are these train services being disrupted in May?
The primary cause for the disruptions in the Jodhpur rail division is the construction of a Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Level Crossing No. 100. This work is taking place in the Merta Road Station yard, situated between the Jodhpur-Phulera rail section. Additionally, doubling work on the Bikaner-Sadulpur rail section between Molisar and Churu stations will also result in several cancellations. These projects are part of the railway’s long-term plan to modernize the tracks and reduce travel time for commuters in the Rajasthan region.
