North Western Railway has officially announced the cancellation and diversion of several train services scheduled for May 2026. These changes primarily affect the Jodhpur rail division and other sections under the North Western Railway zone. According to Amit Sudarshan, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, these disruptions are necessary to facilitate essential infrastructure work aimed at improving passenger safety and increasing train speeds across the network.

Why are these train services being disrupted in May?

The primary cause for the disruptions in the Jodhpur rail division is the construction of a Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Level Crossing No. 100. This work is taking place in the Merta Road Station yard, situated between the Jodhpur-Phulera rail section. Additionally, doubling work on the Bikaner-Sadulpur rail section between Molisar and Churu stations will also result in several cancellations. These projects are part of the railway’s long-term plan to modernize the tracks and reduce travel time for commuters in the Rajasthan region.

List of completely cancelled trains in May 2026

Several key trains, including the Jaipur-Jodhpur Express and Jodhpur-Hisar Express, will remain suspended on specific dates during the month of May. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

Partial cancellations and route diversions

Apart from total cancellations, many trains will be short-terminated or diverted via alternate routes to avoid the construction zones. These measures are intended to maintain some level of connectivity while work is in progress.

  • Train No. 22422: The Jodhpur-Delhi Sarai Express will originate from Degana instead of Jodhpur on May 24.
  • Train No. 14721: The Jodhpur-Barmer Express will operate from Bikaner instead of Jodhpur on May 24.
  • Train No. 12413/12414: Ajmer-Jammutawi and Jammutawi-Ajmer Express will be diverted via Delhi-Shakur Basti-Jakhal-Dhuri-Ludhiana from May 30 to June 4.
  • Train No. 22915/22916: Bandra Terminus-Hisar service will be partially cancelled between Ratangarh and Hisar on specific dates in mid-May.

To assist passengers during the peak summer vacation season, North Western Railway is running holiday special trains and adding extra coaches to existing long-distance trains until July 15. Commuters should verify the live status of their trains before heading to the station.
