Northeast Railway Operates Special Trains and Free Shuttles for Mouni Amavasya Pilgrims in Prayagraj.

Train Services for Mauni Amavasya Festival

The Northeast Railway has announced special train services for the Prayagraj region in celebration of the Mauni Amavasya festival, scheduled from January 28 to January 31. A total of 154 special trains will operate from various stations, including Banaras, Bhatni, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya Dham, Chapra, Azamgarh, Dohghat, and Gomti Nagar, to destinations like Prayagraj Rambagh and Jhusi. On January 28, 23 trains will be run, with 21 trains scheduled for the return journey. The service will continue on January 29 with 23 trains in total and a return service of 24 trains. On January 30, 21 trains will be operational, and on January 31, 7 trains will be run with 14 for the return journey.

Shuttle Bus Arrangements for Devotees

To facilitate the influx of devotees coming to bathe during the Mauni Amavasya, shuttle bus services will be provided free of charge from January 28 to January 30. These shuttle buses will operate on 13 designated routes across the city and will be available from all temporary bus bases and airports. Specific arrangements have been made near key railway stations, with 45 shuttle buses reserved near Prayagraj Junction, Prayag station, and Subedarganj railway station. Additionally, 40 buses will be available towards platform number one, while 30 will operate towards platform number six. An extra 80 buses have been reserved at DFC ground for additional passenger needs.

Designated Routes for Shuttle Buses

The shuttle bus services will cover multiple routes to ensure ease of access for devotees. Key routes include services from Habusa Mor to Andawa, Phulpur to Andawa, and various other connections to Leprosy Square and Bharat Scout Guide School. Additional routes will connect villages and localities such as Dhanuha village, Gauhania, Chakghat, Bella Cachar, Shivgarh, Nawabganj, Nehru Park, and Pooramufti to Hindu Hostels, as well as direct services from the airport to Hindu hostels. These arrangements are aimed at providing seamless transportation for the large number of devotees expected during this significant festival.
