The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has seized a large consignment of illegal liquor from the Satyagraha Express at Bagaha Railway Station. This action was taken on February 11, 2026, during a routine search operation. The officers found an unclaimed bag containing 155 pieces of English liquor, likely smuggled from Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Holi festival.
How was the liquor discovered in the train?
The RPF team was conducting a routine check under ‘Operation Satark’ when they noticed an unclaimed bag. Upon inspection, they found 155 bottles of foreign liquor inside the bag. No passenger came forward to claim the bag during the search. Authorities suspect that smugglers brought this consignment from the bordering state of Uttar Pradesh.
What happens to the seized liquor now?
The seized liquor has been handed over to the Excise Department (Utpaad Vibhag) for further legal action. Since no owner was found, a case will be registered against unknown persons. The police are also checking CCTV footage from boarding stations to identify the people responsible for placing the bag on the train.
