The weather department has predicted heavy snowfall in most parts of Kashmir and high-altitude areas of Jammu by the evening of January 27th. Therefore, special trains have been scheduled to operate on January 27th and 28th to ensure safe travel for passengers.
Jammu’s senior commercial manager, Uchit Singhal, mentioned the heavy rainfall and snowfall warnings for January 27th and 28th in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the decision to run the special train. Earlier disruptions in road and air travel due to snowfall had necessitated the operation of these special trains.
The special reserved train will depart from Katra on January 28th at 10:30 AM and reach its destination at 1:30 PM. A stop will be made at Banihal Railway Station on the way. The return journey will start at 3 PM from Srinagar to Katra and arrive at Katra at 6 PM.
