The General Manager of Eastern Railway, Milind Deouskar, is conducting a significant inspection at Bhagalpur station on February 12. This visit focuses on improving passenger amenities and reviewing the station remodeling plans. The railway administration is looking into constructing a two-story permanent holding area to manage crowds during major festivals like Holi and Chhath. This inspection will play a key role in finalizing upcoming railway projects in the region.
Vande Bharat Route and Pricing Updates
There are active discussions to change the timing of the Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Express. Local stakeholders have requested the railway board to shift the departure time from 3:20 PM to 5:00 AM. This change aims to benefit business travelers and patients visiting Kolkata. Additionally, new pricing rules for Vande Bharat Sleeper trains have been released.

New Bridge and Station Proposals
Significant infrastructure upgrades are planned for the Bhagalpur region. A new double-line rail bridge is under construction over the Ganges connecting Vikramshila to Kataria, with a budget of ₹1,153 crore. IRCON has been assigned to complete this project. Officials are also discussing the construction of a New Bhagalpur station near Jagdishpur and the doubling of the Rampurhat-Dumka-Bhagalpur line to speed up train operations.
