This December, a big change is coming for those traveling on the Patna–Delhi route. The Indian Railways is set to launch the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Bihar, much awaited by passengers for months.
This new train combines the speed of Tejas, the comfort of Rajdhani, and the advanced engineering of Vande Bharat. It promises to completely change the overnight travel experience.
The sleeper train will have 16 coaches and can accommodate 827 passengers. It will offer different classes, including AC3, AC2, and AC1. The ticket prices will be similar to those of the Rajdhani Express, and if there’s more demand, the number of coaches may increase.
The first train set is ready in Bengaluru and will be sent on December 12. After that, trial runs will begin on the Delhi–Patna route, with plans to start regular service before the New Year.
The Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to run six days a week, leaving Patna in the evening and reaching Delhi the next morning. It aims to provide a luxurious travel experience with modern amenities, making the journey both comfortable and fast.
