Indian Railways is launching the first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, aiming to enhance travel comfort and speed.
Indian Railways is all set to introduce the first-ever Vande Bharat Sleeper train this month. This is a big step in improving high-speed rail travel in our country.
The Railway Minister has said that this sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express will start operations in September. While the exact date and route for the launch are still not announced, preparations are moving ahead quickly.
This new sleeper train can carry over 1,100 passengers and is designed to reach speeds of up to 180 kmph. It will have different classes like AC First, AC 2-tier, and AC 3-tier, along with many modern amenities to make travel comfortable.
Currently, ten sleeper trains are being built, with plans to produce 200 more in the future. In Odisha, the Rourkela-Howrah route is expanding from 8 to 16 coaches to accommodate more passengers during busy times.
Though the first sleeper route is still to be confirmed, Odisha is expected to benefit significantly. Routes like Bhubaneswar to Bengaluru could see travel times reduced to 17 hours, making it easier for people to travel long distances comfortably.
