What’s inside:

IRCTC is introducing QR codes on train staff uniforms to improve passenger services and transparency in food pricing.

IRCTC is making travel easier for train passengers. They are adding QR codes to the uniforms of train staff and food vendors. This change will help passengers find out the real prices of food items and stop complaints about overcharging.

When passengers scan the QR code with their mobile phones, they can see all available food options and their official prices. This code will also allow them to make digital payments using cards, UPI, or other online methods quickly.

This initiative will start with premium trains running from Mumbai. The Central Railway, West Central Railway, and Konkan Railway are working together to implement this plan. Eventually, it will expand to include trains across the country and major railway stations.

Onboard staff on Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express trains will wear navy blue jackets with a helpline number. Other train staff will have light blue T-shirts. All staff and vendors will need to wear ID cards with QR codes for easy information access and payment.

IRCTC aims to apply this system to all trains in the future. Officials believe this will enhance the travel experience and reduce complaints about onboard services significantly.

Summary:

  • QR codes will be added to uniforms of train staff.

  • Passengers can see food options and prices by scanning codes.

  • Payment can be made digitally using various methods.

  • Initiative starts with trains from Mumbai and will expand later.

  • Goal is to improve travel experience and reduce complaints.
