Kinet Railway Solutions is an Indian company that focuses on making electric passenger trains. They had earlier secured a deal to produce 120 Vande Bharat Sleeper trains but now, that number has changed.
Now, instead of 120 trains, they will provide 80 trains, each with 24 coaches instead of the earlier plan of 16 coaches. This change aims to improve the travel experience for passengers on long journeys.
The Indian Railways has also updated its contract for these sleeper trains, reducing the total number of trains from 200 to 133. The new design focuses on better comfort for travelers.
Looking ahead, the Integral Coach Factory has already revealed a prototype of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. Production of more train sets is expected to happen from April to December 2025.
