10 Gaya DDU Gomoh Special Trains for November Rush

To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of 10 pairs of Gaya DDU Gomoh special trains. These services are scheduled to run throughout November 2026, specifically targeting the high-demand corridor between Gaya, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU), and Gomoh.

Easing Festive Congestion

The initiative is a strategic move by the East Central Railway (ECR) to alleviate the heavy pressure on the existing network. By deploying these special services, the railway aims to facilitate smoother travel for passengers commuting between major hubs, including Kanpur and Kolkata.

This decision comes as part of a broader seasonal strategy to ensure that the festive rush does not lead to extreme overcrowding or delays on regular services. The focus on this specific route is intended to provide much-needed relief to one of the busiest corridors in the region.

Building on October's Success

The deployment of these November special trains follows a successful implementation in October 2026. During that period, the ECR introduced 11 pairs of festival special trains to connect Bihar to various metropolitan centers, such as:

  • Delhi
  • Kolkata
  • Bengaluru
  • Amritsar

Many of those October services also utilized key stations like Gaya, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Gomoh, and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction to manage the heavy flow of travelers.

Official Statement and Passenger Advice

According to Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of the ECR, these special train deployments are an ongoing effort to accommodate the significant increase in festive travel demand.

To ensure a hassle-free journey, passengers are advised to:

  1. Verify the latest operating status of the special trains.
  2. Check updated schedules via the National Train Enquiry System (NTES).
  3. Confirm seat availability through official channels.
  4. Use the dedicated railway helpline by dialing 139 for immediate assistance.
