Indian Railways Update: 14 stations in Bihar to get modern medical clinics from April 2026
Passengers traveling through North Bihar will soon have access to immediate medical care right on the railway platform. The Samastipur Railway Division is setting up modern medical clinics at 14 major stations, including Sitamarhi and Motihari. These clinics will provide primary treatment and emergency services through qualified doctors and paramedical staff, with operations expected to start from April 2026.

The project covers 14 key stations under the Samastipur Division where passengers often face difficulties in accessing immediate medical help. These clinics are designed to be a completely new setup, different from existing divisional hospitals, and will be equipped with modern medical tools. The following services and facilities will be provided at these locations:
- Primary first-aid and general health checkups for passengers
- Emergency medical assistance directly on the station premises
- Daily presence of MBBS doctors and trained nursing staff
- Modern equipment for quick diagnosis of minor health issues

Work on these clinics is moving at a fast pace following directives from the Samastipur Railway Division. Senior DCM Ananya Smriti confirmed that the proposal was prepared and sent to headquarters, with the facility likely to open for the public next month. Apart from these clinics, the railways is also planning to install Health ATMs at stations like Bhagalpur under the Malda Division. These ATMs will allow passengers to undergo 16 types of medical tests for a small fee. In a separate development, the Danapur Division is also preparing to open medical outlets at four stations to ensure easy availability of medicines during emergencies.
