₹75 Crore Railway Overbridge to End Traffic Gridlock
A new 75 crore railway overbridge project is proposed to solve the daily traffic gridlock caused by frequent railway gate closures.

Commuters trapped in daily traffic nightmares due to frequent railway gate closures are finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. A massive 75 crore railway overbridge project has been proposed to tackle the persistent congestion that has long plagued the area.
The primary goal of this infrastructure initiative is to eliminate the constant gridlock caused by level crossings, providing a long-term solution to ensure smoother vehicle movement and improved connectivity for the local population.
Infrastructure Quality Under Scrutiny
While the new proposal brings hope, recent developments in other regions have raised serious questions regarding construction quality. In Bhagalpur, Bihar, significant concerns were raised after cracks appeared in a ₹52 crore rail overbridge. Most concerningly, these structural issues surfaced just six months after the bridge was inaugurated.
Major Railway Projects Across India
Despite these challenges, Indian Railways is moving forward with several large-scale projects designed to enhance safety and ease of movement:
- Achnhera, Agra: A separate railway overbridge project valued at ₹59 crore has been greenlit. With ₹16 crore already released, the project is set to provide massive relief to over one lakh residents.
- Udhna-Ukai Songadh Section: A significant budget exceeding ₹133 crore has been allocated for a four-lane road overbridge to boost safety and connectivity in this section.
