The capital city of Delhi is currently experiencing extremely cold temperatures coupled with dense fog. This weather phenomenon has resulted in visibility dropping to less than 20 meters, causing significant challenges for transportation. Vehicles on the roads are moving at a crawl due to the poor visibility. The cold wave is not limited to Delhi; several states in North India are also facing similar severe cold and fog conditions, prompting alerts to be issued in numerous regions.

The adverse weather conditions have severely affected various modes of transportation, including vehicles, airplane flights, and trains. Indian Railways has reported that 26 trains originating from Delhi are running late due to the dense fog. Notable delays include Train No. 14214 (Jat All Express) at 482 minutes and Train No. 12485 (NED SGNR Superfast Express) at 508 minutes.
