Vande Bharat trains running all over India are set to get an upgrade. The plan is to increase the number of coaches from 8 and 16 to 20 in a phased manner. This decision comes from the railway board based on passenger demand.
As part of this upgrade, trains operating from Agra via Prayagraj to Varanasi, and from Varanasi to Lucknow-Prayagraj will also be converted to 20 coaches. Currently, the Vande Bharat running from New Delhi to Prayagraj and Varanasi has already been upgraded to 20 coaches.
This change means that passengers will have more space and comfort while traveling. The new services will start as soon as the coaches are available for the trains. The upgrade is expected to improve the overall travel experience for everyone.
Right now, two Vande Bharat trains between New Delhi and Varanasi are already running with 20 coaches. Similar orders have been issued to upgrade trains from Mangaluru to Thiruvananthapuram, Secunderabad to Tirupati, and Chennai to Tirunelveli as well.
In the next review meeting, there will be discussions about increasing the coaches for Vande Bharat trains operating from Gorakhpur and Agra. There is a growing demand for Vande Bharat Express services across various routes in the country.
