What’s inside:

Indian Railways is bringing back train stops at various stations in Odisha and nearby areas from September 1, responding to public requests.

Indian Railways has some good news for passengers in Odisha and nearby states. Starting from September 1, they will start stopping trains at more stations. This change comes after many people and local leaders asked for better train services to smaller but important stations.

The changes will happen in phases. On September 1, trains like the Puri–Shalimar Dhauli Express will start stopping at Markona, while the Titlagarh–Howrah Ispat Express will stop at Bagdehi. Other trains will also stop at Bisra and Rajkharsawan Junction, improving access for many travelers.

On September 2, the Puri–Shalimar Sri Jagannath Express will stop at Rupsa Junction, and the Puri–Patna Baidyanathdham Express will stop at Burnpur. Additionally, from September 5 and 7, the Visakhapatnam–Digha Express and Puri–Digha Express will start stopping at Jaleswar, making it easier for passengers in that area.

Passengers are encouraged to check the updated train schedules, which will gradually show these new stops in online booking systems. This means travelers can plan their journeys better with the added stops.

Lastly, the Rourkela–Howrah Vande Bharat Express service is also expanding from 8 to 16 coaches due to high demand. This will help accommodate more passengers looking to travel on this busy route.

Summary:

  • Indian Railways is adding more train stops in Odisha from September 1.

  • Puri–Shalimar Dhauli Express will stop at Markona, among others.

  • More trains will have new stops in phases on September 2, 5, and 7.

  • Passengers should check updated schedules for new stoppages.

  • Rourkela–Howrah Vande Bharat Express will have more coaches due to demand.
