What’s inside:
A landslide in Haridwar has blocked the railway route to Dehradun, affecting train services.
A landslide happened on Monday in the Mansa Devi hills near Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar. This caused a big problem by blocking the Haridwar-Dehradun railway line.
Boulders fell from the hills onto the railway tracks near Bhimgoda, close to Kali temple. This disruption affected many trains, including the Vande Bharat Express, making it difficult for them to move.
Because of the landslide, all train services on this route have been stopped for now. The clean-up process is expected to take around 8 to 10 hours, and passengers should prepare for delays.
Officials revealed that a Shiva temple near the railway track also collapsed because of the landslide. A large iron net was previously put up to keep rocks from falling, but it was unable to stop the larger stones.
Railway teams are on-site working to clear the debris. They are using JCB machines to remove the stones and gas cutters to fix the damaged net. Train services will resume once the area is safe.
