Expansion Plans and Upcoming Amrit Bharat Routes
As of March 18, 2026, there are 60 Amrit Bharat Express services running across the country. The occupancy rates have remained very high, crossing the 100 percent mark in the last financial year. Due to this success, the government is now preparing to introduce new services on popular routes like Ahmedabad to Patna and Pune to Danapur very soon.
The Integral Coach Factory is also working on the production of Amrit Bharat 3.0 rakes. This new version will introduce air-conditioned coaches into the Amrit Bharat category by the end of the 2025-26 financial year. These trains will continue to focus on affordability while providing features that were previously seen only in premium coach categories.
