The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has approved a major multi-phase redevelopment project for Berhampur Railway Station with an investment of 300 crore rupees. This project will transform the station into a smart transport hub that reflects the cultural identity of South Odisha. The upgrade aims to provide a world-class experience for the 25,000 passengers who visit the station daily.

What are the key upgrades at Berhampur Station?
The redevelopment focuses on increasing capacity and improving passenger movement. The station will get three additional railway lines and four new platforms to handle more than 162 trains per day. To make the station more passenger-friendly, the railway will shift existing service buildings and quarters to create more open space for commuters.
