How is the track monitoring being managed in Ambedkar Nagar?
The monitoring is centered around Akbarpur Junction, which falls under the Lucknow NR Division of Northern Railway. A total of 25 teams have been deployed to oversee approximately 150 kilometers of track. Each team consists of two employees who will keep a close watch on the rails. Additionally, Rail Mitras have been alerted to assist in this safety drive.
Why is high temperature a risk for railway tracks?
According to a railway track engineer, extreme heat causes the metal rails to expand, which can create dangerous tension in the tracks. This expansion increases the risk of welding points becoming weak or breaking. To avoid any serious incidents during train operations, the administration has implemented this strict surveillance system.
