The doubling work on the Bettiah-Majhaulia section of the Sugauli-Valmikinagar rail link in Bihar is now complete. This project aims to reduce train congestion and improve connectivity in the region. The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) is scheduled to visit and inspect the section on July 3, 2026. The East Central Railway Construction Organization in Hajipur has already sent the official confirmation to the Samastipur Division. Once the CRS gives the final approval, regular train services will begin on the double line.
What is the current status of electrification and trials?
Electrification of the Bettiah-Majhaulia section is already finished. Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Rajeev Kumar Barnwal inspected the work on June 13, 2026. A successful trial run was conducted using an electric locomotive to test the 25 KV power supply. Before the main CRS inspection, a joint team of officials will check the tracks, signals, and station yards.
