The new m-UTS facility was rolled out on Monday under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Manish Kumar Gupta and the supervision of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Kartik Singh. The service officially commenced when the first unreserved ticket was successfully purchased by a passenger at the halt.

With the implementation of this system, passengers visiting Abujganj halt will no longer need to stand in long queues at traditional ticket counters. Railway staff equipped with portable handheld devices can issue unreserved tickets directly within the station premises, saving valuable time for daily commuters and seasonal travellers.

Expanding Digital Services Across Malda Division

The introduction of mobile ticketing at Abujganj represents a major milestone in modernizing passenger services across smaller stations. The Malda Division administration has announced that it is actively planning to expand this digital ticketing facility to other small stations and halts in a phased and systematic manner in the near future.
