Agra Metro connects directly to Agra Cantt Railway Station for easy transit

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation is building a pioneering project to link Agra Cantt Railway Station directly to the local metro network. This development aims to make travel much easier for daily commuters and tourists visiting the Taj City by offering seamless movement between trains and the metro. The new initiative marks a first for any metro project in India and highlights the growing focus on multi-modal transport integration across the country. Passengers travelling through Agra will soon experience hassle-free interchange between Indian Railways and the city metro system. A 40-meter long and 12-meter wide specialized pathway has been completed to facilitate seamless transit between the two transport hubs. The metro station at Agra Cantt is situated adjacent to platform number six of the railway station. Authorities are installing two escalators, two lifts, and a staircase to enhance passenger convenience. The station will feature 40 information boards, and 20 staff members will be deployed to assist commuters. Work at the Agra Cantt metro station is expected to be completed by December 2026.
