Central Railway Opens 13 Stations on Ahilyanagar-Beed Line
Central Railway operationalizes 13 stations on the Ahilyanagar-Beed line, slashing travel time and boosting Marathwada connectivity.
Central Railway has officially operationalized 13 stations along the newly constructed Ahilyanagar-Beed rail line, marking a major milestone for regional connectivity. This development integrates the Beed district into the Indian Railway network, providing a significant boost to the Marathwada region.
A Major Milestone for Marathwada
The new line is part of the broader Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath project. A 201-kilometer stretch has been successfully commissioned, covering the section from Ahilyanagar through Beed to Badwani. While remaining construction works are still in progress, the line was officially inaugurated in September 2025.
Faster Travel with Revised Timetables
Commuters will benefit from much faster travel times. Following the introduction of a revised timetable on September 1, 2026, the travel time between Ahilyanagar and Beed has been reduced by 1 hour and 35 minutes. The total journey time is now approximately four hours, significantly improving efficiency for daily travelers.
Beed-Pune Express Connects Major Cities
The network's utility was further enhanced on September 17, 2026, with the launch of the first daily train service. The Beed-Pune Express now provides enhanced connectivity between these two important cities, facilitating easier movement for passengers across the state.
