Diwali & Chhath Puja: Special Trains Announced for Aligarh Junction
Indian Railways announces special festival trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja 2026, with key halts at Aligarh Junction for easier travel.
To manage the massive surge in passenger traffic during the 2026 Diwali and Chhath Puja festivities, Indian Railways has introduced a series of special train services. These trains are set to feature scheduled halts at Aligarh Junction, providing much-needed connectivity for travelers during the peak festive season.
Amit Kumar Singh, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of North Central Railway, confirmed that these services are specifically designed to ease the journey for passengers traveling to and from major cities, including Delhi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Patna.
Shakurbasti–Subedarganj Unreserved Festival Special
To facilitate easier travel, the Shakurbasti–Subedarganj Unreserved Festival Special (04420/04419) will be operational with the following schedule:
- Train 04420: Scheduled to depart Shakurbasti at 6:30 PM on November 6 and 7, arriving at Aligarh at 9:38 PM.
- Train 04419: Scheduled to depart Subedarganj at 12:30 PM on November 7 and 8, reaching Aligarh at 9:53 PM.
Ghaziabad–Aligarh EMU Special
To clear the heavy passenger rush between Ghaziabad and Aligarh, the Ghaziabad–Aligarh EMU Special (04414/04413) has been announced:
- Train 04414: Departs Ghaziabad at 8:05 PM on November 5, 6, and 7, arriving in Aligarh at 10:30 PM.
- Train 04413: Departs Aligarh at 11:30 PM on November 6, 7, and 8, reaching Ghaziabad at 2:00 AM the following day.
Aligarh–Rajghat Narora Unreserved Special
For commuters traveling on specific dates, the Aligarh–Rajghat Narora Unreserved Special (04187/04188) will run on November 9 and November 24, 2026:
- Train 04187: Departs Aligarh at 5:40 AM to reach Rajghat Narora at 7:15 AM.
- Train 04188: Departs Rajghat Narora at 8:15 AM to arrive at Aligarh at 9:55 AM.
Railway officials have highlighted that several of these services are categorized as unreserved to help commuters travel more easily during the rush. Passengers are strongly advised to verify the latest departure times, specific halts, and seat availability through the official IRCTC website or railway inquiry services before traveling, as schedules remain subject to updates.
