Ambala Division Announces Festival Specials & Extra Coaches
To accommodate the massive influx of passengers during the upcoming festive season, including Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, the Ambala Railway Division has announced a major operational plan. The division will deploy additional coaches and introduce several festival special trains to address the shortage of confirmed tickets and ease the travel burden on commuters.
Augmenting Capacity on Key Long-Distance Routes
Northern Railway has confirmed the augmentation of load capacity for several prominent long-distance trains. To ensure more passengers can travel comfortably, the following capacity increases will be implemented between mid-October and late November 2026:
- New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani (12424/12423): Will receive one additional 3-AC coach.
- New Delhi-Jammu Tawi (12425/12426): Will receive one additional 3-AC coach.
- Chandigarh-Madurai Express (20494/20493): Will be augmented with one extra sleeper coach.
- Firozpur-Rameswaram Express (20498/20497): Will also receive one extra sleeper coach.
Furthermore, capacity increases are planned for the Anand Vihar-Ghazipur City services (22420/22419 and 22434/22433), as well as various trains connecting Delhi to Godda, Pratapgarh, Ayodhya Cantt, Varanasi, and
