Ambala Division Deploys 15 Special Trains for Festive Rush
Ambala Division launches 15 special trains and Yatri Suvidha Kendras to manage festive crowds at major stations.
The Ambala Railway Division is gearing up for the massive influx of passengers expected during the upcoming festive season. To prevent chaos and ensure smooth travel, the division has rolled out a comprehensive plan involving special train services and advanced crowd management systems at major transit hubs.
Special Trains to Connect Bihar and UP
To address the surge in travel demand, the division has successfully deployed 15 special train services. Furthermore, Northern Railway has ensured that a total of 24 special trains will pass through Ambala Cantonment alone. These services are specifically designed to connect passengers to key regions, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and the National Capital Region (NCR).
'Yatri Suvidha Kendras' to Ease Platform Congestion
Managing heavy footfall is a top priority for railway authorities. To prevent overcrowding on platforms, dedicated holding areas and tents, known as 'Yatri Suvidha Kendras', have been established at high-traffic stations. These centers are designed to provide comfort and essential amenities to waiting passengers.
The following stations will host these specialized facilities:
- Ambala Cantonment
- Chandigarh
- Saharanpur
- Bathinda
- Sirhind
These Yatri Suvidha Kendras are equipped with necessary amenities, including comfortable seating arrangements, public announcement systems, clean drinking water, and proper sanitation facilities to ensure a better passenger experience.
Enhanced Security and Real-Time Monitoring
Security remains a paramount concern during the festive period. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has intensified its presence across the entire division. Personnel are actively regulating passenger movement at both entry and exit points to maintain order.
To bolster safety, authorities are utilizing:
- Enhanced surveillance through CCTV monitoring.
- Dedicated control rooms for constant oversight.
- Strengthened coordination between the RPF and the Government Railway Police (GRP).
Operational Upgrades and Food Quality Oversight
Beyond security, the division is implementing several operational enhancements to handle the rush. Senior officials are monitoring passenger spikes in real-time through specially established 'war rooms'. Additionally, more ticket counters have been opened to reduce long queues.
Authorities have also implemented strict oversight regarding food quality and vendor pricing to protect passengers from exploitation. Railway officials have issued an appeal to all passengers to utilize the designated holding areas and maintain orderly conduct while boarding to ensure a safe and efficient journey.
