Amroha Land Sale Ban for New Delhi-Moradabad Railway Line

The Amroha district administration has taken decisive steps to clear the way for upcoming railway infrastructure. To facilitate the construction of the proposed third and fourth railway lines along the busy Delhi-Moradabad corridor, a strict ban has been imposed on the purchase and sale of land across 46 identified villages.

This administrative move is designed to streamline the acquisition process for this high-density project. In addition to the land sale ban, authorities have also prohibited any unauthorized construction or changes in land-use within these designated areas to prevent complications during the expansion.

The project involves the acquisition of 71.3922 hectares of land, spread across three different tehsils. Officials are currently conducting a meticulous verification process, cross-referencing Gata numbers (land plot numbers) with Khatauni (land ownership records) to ensure the accuracy of the affected areas.

The land allocation is distributed as follows:

  • Amroha Tehsil: 48.1182 hectares across 27 villages.
  • Dhanoura Tehsil: 12.487 hectares across 14 villages.
  • Hasanpur Tehsil: 10.787 hectares across 5 villages.

Enhancing Corridor Efficiency

This expansion is part of a larger network project aimed at connecting Ghaziabad to Sitapur. The primary goal of adding these new lines is to significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve the operational efficiency of both passenger and freight trains moving through this vital corridor.

The process is being overseen by the Special Land Acquisition Officer (SLAO), Karnendra Singh, who is coordinating the collection of records with the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of the three affected tehsils. Once the administrative verification is finalized based on the revised proposal from the Northern Railway, the government intends to provide compensation to all eligible farmers in accordance with established regulatory standards.
