Indian Railways extends Anand Vihar and Laukaha Bazar festival special train service

Indian Railways has announced the extension of the Festival Special train service operating between Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi and Laukaha Bazar in the Madhubani district of Bihar. The service, designated under train numbers 04014 and 04013, will continue to run from September 16 to November 29, 2026, to accommodate increased passenger traffic during the festive season. This decision aims to bring great relief to travellers heading towards North Bihar during peak festive months.

The Northern Railway confirmed that the decision follows previous service extensions, including an August 16, 2026, announcement that provided 31 additional trips. According to North Eastern Railway's Chief Public Relations Officer, Sumit Kumar, the extension was influenced by initiatives from Jhanjharpur Member of Parliament Ramprit Mandal to provide relief to passengers in North Bihar.

The train follows a route passing through major junctions such as Gorakhpur, Raxaul, and Sitamarhi. Additional stations on the route include Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Gonda, Kaptanganj, Siswa Bazar, Bagaha, Harinagar, Narkatiaganj, Sikta, Bairgania, Shisho Halt, Sakri, Jhanjharpur, and Vachaspati Nagar. The service covers a distance of approximately 1,167 to 1,171 kilometers, with a total travel time ranging between 28 and 30 hours.
