The station is being equipped with state-of-the-art passenger information and telecommunication systems worth approximately 1.79 crore. This project is a step towards the Smart Railway campaign and will provide fast and accurate digital information to travelers. It is expected to be particularly helpful for elderly and disabled passengers who require clear guidance at the station. Tenders for these digital upgrades have already been issued by the Northern Railway.

Platform expansion and traffic management

To accommodate more trains and reduce congestion, four new platforms are being added to the terminal. Platforms 8 and 9 are currently under construction and are likely to be operational by the end of 2025. Additionally, the railway authorities are planning external changes like building an extra bridge over a drain and doubling the width of the Foot Over Bridge connecting to the metro station to manage heavy footfall.
