Anuppur Mauhari Train Delay: Engine Failure Halts Services

Rail commuters faced a significant Anuppur Mauhari train delay on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as an engine breakdown on a goods train brought rail traffic to a standstill between the Anuppur and Mauhari stations.
Major Disruptions for Passenger Services
The incident occurred when a goods train, which was en route from Shahdol towards Bijuri, suffered a mechanical failure mid-track. This stalled engine created a major bottleneck, preventing several scheduled passenger services from passing through the section.
The Shahdol-Ambikapur MEMU was among the most heavily impacted services. The train reached platform number one at the Anuppur railway station at 1:50 PM but was unable to proceed, remaining stranded for approximately three hours. It was not until 5:00 PM that the blockage was cleared, allowing the train to continue its journey.
Furthermore, the Shahdol-Ambikapur Express was also affected by the disruption. As a precautionary measure while the track remained obstructed by the stalled goods train, the Express service was halted at Amlai railway station.
Technical Repairs and Passenger Unrest
Railway management and technical teams were immediately dispatched to the site to address the faulty engine. Repairs were carried out on-site to restore movement on the line.
During the hours of delay, passengers expressed significant frustration regarding the situation. Many travelers noted a lack of clear information from authorities concerning the expected duration of the stoppage, leaving them in uncertainty while waiting for the tracks to clear.
Railway officials have confirmed that operations would resume once the repairs were completed and the track was deemed safe for regular traffic.
